Prepaid package or do it alone?

I am going to Fiji for 7 days on my travels and don't know whether to pay for amazingfiji package before I go or book a few nights in advance and see where it takes me next.

Has anyone forked out before hand to find they could have done it cheaper once your there? Once at one of the backpacking resorts do they offer everything the tour package offers anyway and you can pick up what you wanna do once there?

I land in Nadi at 6am is that enough time to make it to the boat at half 8? Can anyone say how much the boat is, or if I book a few nights, does the resort sort it out for you?

Get the 7 day Bula Pass from Awesome Adventures, then arrange accommodation as you go - you can do this on the boat or at the resorts. Cost won't be much different than one of those packages, but it gives you more flexibility with where you go and spend your time.

If you land at 6 you should probably be able to make it in time for the boat. The price is on their website, but it's a bit cheaper if you buy it once you land in Fiji.

Thanks for your reply. If i booked my first night in a Nadi hostel would they be able to offer good island tours for a better price?

I would go it alone. Fiji is a very easy place to navigate, its smaller, great climate and everyone speaks perfect English. The people are friendly enough and there isn't really that much to be concerned about (i.e. getting ripped off).

If you are ever going to do it alone this would be the place.
