Questions about Fiji

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi:

Just wondering if Fiji is considered as a big country and how long is it recommended to explore Fiji?

Are things expensive in general?

Is it accessible to cover Fiji just by public transport alone?

This is totally personal.
Fiji has hundreds of islands and a year wouldn't be enough to see them all.
But many people just go to a resort for a week and are happy with it.
Most places are accessible by public transport of some sort, though to the remotest islands that could mean a cargo ship once a month.
Fiji is probably the cheapest country in the South Pacific, but of course not as cheap as SE Asia.

You can travel completely around Viti Levu by bus. one day for the south and one day for the north half. Lots of local buses in Suva
