Scenic trip across Viti Levu in 1 Day

We'll be arriving Nadi on an early Wednesday morning from Los Angeles and traveling across the island to catch the ferry to Kadavu leaving that night. Is there a (relatively) inexpensive way to make the trip and see the sights along the way? Tourist bus? Taxi? We have all day so we'd like to make the most of it!

you could take the bus around the Kings Road eg Sunset bus and see interesting countryside and water views, or take the bus on the Queens Road to Suva, get off at Pacific Harbour have a look around and get Lunch at the Pearl Hotel and catch a later bus into suva, you could also check out the Navua River cruise which is amazing, really don't think you have enough time but put it on your bucket list the Pacific Bus goes into Navua Township, some other buses don't.
