Scuba diving on Viti Levu, near Pacific Harbour

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Looking for suggestions for some good diving on the south side of the island. We are intermediate divers and don't like going much deeper than 50 feet.

My wife and I will be staying at the InterContinental Resort on Viti Levu and are hoping to get away for the day to do some scuba diving. We will be there with our two year old daughter, so i'm thinking that we will not want to bring her on the boat. So, we'll likely leave her at the resort...which is why we don't want to be scuba diving for much more than a half day.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Especially good outfits that can take us out on their boat for the day.

the Intercontinental is no where near Pacific Harbour, its more than an hours drive each way and while I know it is OK to leave your child at the resort 'Kids Club' I would not venture that far. I know they have diving from the resort and I think that would be your best option, you can also snorkel just off the beach, its a great beach,
the Shangri-la is another resort that is fairly close to the Intercontinental and they also have diving

Thanks. I just don't know what the diving is like right off the hotel beach. But perhaps that is what is realistic for us.

its a beautiful beach, the best on the island, and I guess the diving should be good, make sure you go for a walk across to the island at low tide, and around the beach to the far headland anytime, but at low tide, you can wade out a distance. Its our preferred place to stay because of the beach and has a great childrens pool

If you can make it to Pacific Harbour you can do the famous 'Beqa lagoon shark feed' dive. It's a fair drive from the Intercontinental, but the hotel should have child-minding facilities.
