So many places in Fiji provide excellent snorkelling opportunities. In general, the best snorkelling is on the smaller islands that do not have any agricultural run-off or much fishing pressure.

Depending on your budget, and with only one week here, some places to consider would be almost anywhere in the Yasawa island group, and also Naigani island (near Ovalau island) and Safari Lodge on Nananu-ira island.

The water is still a little chilly in September, so a thin shorty neoprene suit is advised if you'll be spending a lot of time in the water. If you'll be free-diving, a diving belt that can hold rocks will do nicely to neutralize bouyancy.

We only had 10 days in Fiji and really enjoyed the snorkeling at the Octopus Resort on Waya Island and on Mana Island. You might want to check out the Jaques Cousteau Resort as well(looked great but pricey for us). Fiji is blessed with many great places - hopefully others will add more for your consideration!

bar none, the best snorkelling ive found in fiji, if not the world was at Mantaray Island Resort (google it) just off the beach, and when its the season you can go out in the channel and snorkel with the sometimes incredibly huge Mantas. Like being in a aquarium.
