Hi
My wife and i are keen for a low kek place to relax on the beach, kayak, snorkel .... Vuna Lagoon Lodge sounds nice. Anyone been there?
Craig

Hi! We stayed at Susies Plantation last year and enjoyed it.
There is no beach but very good snorkling and diving.
Each day we had a lady that was staying at Vuna Lagoon Lodge come for the day for the meals and the company.
Vuna Lagoon was Tapu due to a death in the village and we could not take a boat trip to the lagoon to snorkel, the lady could not swim at the beach either.
There is not much at that end of Taveuni apart from the blowhole, Vuna Village and Susies.
The road is terrible, it took all day to take a taxi to Bouma park, walk to the waterfall and drive back to Susie's.
The flight to Taveuni and back is very scenic and Taveuni is well worth a visit.
Susie's were offering very good rates while the new Bure's were being built.
If you go there try and get a new bure as the originals are very very basic.

Vuna Lagoon yes it's an excellent place, very good value also. There are good meals, but you need to check that the housewife will be present there. It's completely isolated in a non touristy village. But there isn't any real beach there (neither at Susie's Plantation). You can snorkel, but it's a shallow lagoon only. For 2 or 3 days maximum, I fully recommend it. It's better on Taveuni to move from place to place, you can stay at Vuna, than at Susie's, then around Waiyevo/Somosomo, at Matai and certainly in the national park.
