Suggestions from other single travellers

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi all

I will be in Fiji for 6/7 day at the beginning of June.
I haven't booked any accommodation yet but its on the list for this week!

I'm looking for suggestions from other single travellers.

My preferences would be for a resort thats not too couple orientated! Limited kids, good variety of activities especially kayaking/ wind surfing etc. Good social scene thats not partying til 4 in the morning.

Budget approx 100-150 FJD per night
Any suggestion welcome!

thanks

Lorna

Ok - have done a whole lot more searching & reading & now have a different question!

I'm thinking of a 2 resort stay, I will have 5nights/ 6 days on the islands with an overnight in Nadi before flying out early the next morning.

I'm liking the activities offered at Funky Fish but am not sure its practical to get to there from the Yasawa's without spending time going back to the mainland.

So thats my question! Can I get from the Yasawas to Funky Fish resort without heading to the mainland?

Cheers for all answers.

I've never heard of Funky Fish. I was in Fiji in Jan '07 for a month (solo female traveller). Sounds like the places that would fit what you're looking for would probably be Robinson Crusoe Island Resort and Manta Ray Island Resort. Both should be in your budget and have the right type of social scene (existent, but not insane). Robinson Crusoe is near Nadi but on it's own island (they can arrange a pickup in Nadi for you). Manta Ray is in the Yasawas. They have a good dive operation at Manta Ray if that's something you're interested in. (I didn't dive at Robinson Crusoe, although that's something that a lot of people were there specifically for as well). I'd say Robinson Crusoe was definitely the most "Fun" I had in Fiji.
