Surfing

Hi, I will be in fiji for two weeks this july and am after accommodation tips, im looking at budget hostely places that do daily surf charters. There seems to be a few options but a reccomendation would be nice. Also i know you can only surf tavarua(cloudbreak/restaurants) if you are staying at the island resort, however i had heard that on guest changeover days(saturdays i believe) they allow charters from other resorts-anyone know anything of this? Is it true? And where offers this?

hi there, yes tavarua on changeover days you can go. have to book in and pay best place to stay for that would be momi bay backpackers, don't remember the name at the mo, but it is in lp guidebook. think seashell cove? they go out every day if enough people want to go. we live on sailboat so have spent much time in this area (mainly anchored in musket cove or outside namotu/ wilkes) surfing and island hopping. we also take crew so you could join us sometime for surfing. have a look at our website: www26.brinkster.com/moet we'll be in fiji in july, then we sail to new cal, excellent surf there too. ok, have fun, fiji is great!
