Taveuni Flight

Hello,

I arrive on Fiji in early September. I head on straight to Taveuni. Should I book a flight before my landing ?
Can I buy a ticket as soon as I show up at Nadi Airport ?
Generally speaking , are inter-connecting flights between islands reliable enough ?

I'd recommend pre-booking for sure as there are only 2 outbound flights from Nadi to Taveuni on certain days. Both depart between 14:00 and 15:00 from Nadi. FijiAirways.com

Be sure to see Bouma National Heritage Park on the northeast shore of Taveuni.. The Lavena Coastal Walk is on the way-
both are South Pacific wilderness with great photo ops!

Definitely, book ahead. The planes are also small, so not many passengers per flight.

Generally speaking, the flights (in my experience) are reliable enough, with the one important provision that they're sensitive to local weather conditions (e.g., sudden poor visibility). The airport on Taveuni is small, takes only small planes. It's not a high-tech airport. So, delays can be of the hour by hour sort, waiting for low clouds to clear.

When we flew back from Taveuni the time for our flight arrived and so did a plane but there was no boarding announcement so we watched to see if our luggage was loaded, it wasn't and people just boarded and the plane left.
This happened twice more before we saw our luggage being loaded so we boarded as well.
It was the correct plane just about an hour late!!!
