Transit in Nadi

I have a 5hr layover in Nadi. I wanted to know if anyone had any luck getting out off the terminal for a layover. If so, what was the process, were there additional fees associated ? I would greatly appreciate any info.

my last time was a 7 hour layover in Nadi. I walked out of the airport and down to the hotel across for the main airport entrance. had a couple of fiji bitters and hung around the pool. when it was time I walked back to the hotel and checked in for my connecting flight. no hassles what so ever.

Lots of local buses going past airport running between Nadi and Lautoka.
