Bula,

I will start travelling in Fiji from third week of November and planning to stay in the country for next 6 months, Any advice for itinerary, accommodation? travel options? By any chance anyone else travelling during same time :)

Cheers

Atta

If you want to stay for 6 months, you might as well invest into a guidebook.
Moon has a very good one, and both Lonely Planet and Rough Guides have one, too.
Those books would answer all your Qs.

I suggest you find a place to stay for a while and explore from there.
It depends what you want to do with your time.
If you are interested in diving/snorkelling the smaller islands are worth visiting including Taveuni, Kadavu, Leluvia and of course all the holiday spots in the Mamucas and Yasawas.
Have a look at the Fiji Rucksack Club which has trips based from Suva https://www.facebook.com/FijiRucksackClub/.

There are many cheaper places to stay on the main island, and a bus that goes right around the island, so no trouble getting on and off. In some of the places do check for bed bugs. You can then get a ferry to the other islands and from Leleuvia they can drop you to Ovalau.

You can find a lot of information about travelling to the Yasawa Islands and the Mamanuca islands on www.fiji-bookings.com, they have a pretty good travel guide, with lots of recommended packages to suit all budgets and trip durations. There is a lot of information, especially regarding island hopping and the Bula pass, but it pays to spend some time researching as there are so many options.
