Travel from pacific harbour to Kadavu

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Does anyone know a way to get from Pacific Harbour to Kadavu without backtracking to Suva? It looks like from Suva you can get the Lomaiviti Princess to Kadavu but it only goes once a week. I'm hoping to go to pacific harbour for one night to do the shark dive and the matava resort at Kadavu for a week of diving astrolabe. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Pacific Harbour is only about 45 minutes drive from Suva, so I wouldn't worry about backtracking. It's a tiny place, so no direct options to anywhere other than the highway to Nadi or Suva. If you're just going for the shark dive you could do a day trip... although it's a nice place to spend a night.

Thanks Becks so there is no way of getting from pacific harbour straight out to Kadavu that you know of? Getting a once weekly ferry is going to be a nuisance so I'd rather not take that option if there is a more convenient one.

Like I said, It's a tiny place, so no direct options to anywhere other than the highway to Nadi or Suva.... no port, no ferry, no nothing. And it's a long swim.

You can also fly to Kadavu if you don't want to take the ferry. There is no airport in Pacific Harbour... you'll need to go to Suva (one flight week) or Nadi (5 a week).

Flying is best-believe me when I say that ferry is downright scary-it's the old Queen of Prince Rupert from here in British Columbia and many people breathed sighs of relief when that hulk was towed out of here.
