TRAVEL PACKAGE WITH OR WITH DINNERS INCLUDEDCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
Hi, I'm not sure which way to go, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Travel agent has quoted a price for two packages - 1 with breakfast only and 1 which includes breakfast and dinner. The difference is $1000. Now we are going for 7 nights - there are 5 of us but 2 are kids so will eat free anyway. So just wanted to see what would be a normal (nothing too fancy) amount to spend for dinners...we are staying at Shangri-la. thanks
So you are being asked to pay $1000 for 7 nights dinner for 3 adults and 2 kids. The kids will eat free if adults eat, so it is $145 per night for 3 or almost $50 per head per night. Sounds a lot to me, but depends how much you eat. Ive stayed at the Fijian 3 times and never taken that deal. You may not want more than 1 course, you may want a banquet (eg seafood night), you might eat at the Chinese place just outside the gates (at the Cultural Centre) or in Sigatoka (much cheaper) or a nearby resort (probably cheaper) . | 1
I second mandja ... | 2 | |
I agree with above. If you rent a car for a day or two you would also have the option of eating outside the resort, in Suva, etc., so I'd forget the dinners. | 3
