Treasure Island Resort

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Sorry about the last post - hit the wrong button!

My wife and I have justed booked 8 nights over on Treasure Island - then we have 2 nights at Nadi ( Mercure) for a quick look around before flying home to Townsville
We've never been over to Fiji and hoped to hear any feedback on Treasure Island, tips, what to bring other than boardshorts, snorkel gear and several books, etc
Yes we specifically chose this island as we are after a complete and total relax mid year - oh - and I should mention we are full lovin mid 40's who enjoy a cold drink on a warm day and a good laugh .

Any "must do" things for NADI given such a short stay or is it better to hire a car and go to some other part of the island?

How about a visit to the Orchid Gardens just outside Nadi? I'm not much of a fan of botanical gadens but was quite mesmerized by this one.

Whilst at the Mecure you will see the Bounty Restaurant, almost next door, which is very nice. But cross the road and eat at Tu's for an absolute delicous meal. Tu has a wonderful menu, plentiful and a great price. Enjoy your trip! I am just back from Fiji and had a great time. Oh and if you want to head into town, just hail a bus (50c and have the correct coin if poss). Same side as the Mecure.

Good day trip is to Lautoka, really nice place and much more genuine than Nadi. Its the second biggest city (and is still smaller than most UK towns!). I personally wouldn't chose to stay any longer in Nadi than I had to, but this breaks it up a fair bit. Hail any bus going north and ask for Lautoka, its half an hour and not much more than a couple of cents.
