TUI TAI CRUISE

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

has anyone had a recent experience with this cruise?
seems to be an absence of recent reviews
Was a bad one from 2011 but no consistent information

thanks

Apparently they had some damage to the boat during the recent cyclone - some guests who booked had their trips cancelled with no refund according to posts to their Facebook page. There are some reviews for 2015 on the page also. Their cruise has had some very good recommendations, including National Geographic. The boat cruises past us regularly here on Taveuni when operating, but we haven't seen it recently. Best advice I can give is to call direct and check whether they are operational again.

really good info , thanks, they might be out of action at present.
We are keen on a high quality snorkelling experience holiday....any ideas of alternatives to Tui Tai, land based is OK as long as not long boat runs to sites.

you could check out the local cruise lines, eg Captain Cook and Blue Lagoon, they take you snorkelling twice a day in different places, Kadavu is out a bit and supposed to be good,

There is a company that does dedicated snorkel cruises - www.snorkelingetc.com - they have offered cruises in Fiji - not sure if they have any coming soon. Another site you could check on is www.seaforyourself.com - another dedicated snorkel group. The Daku Resort (www.dakuresort.com/snorkeling) offers a land based snorkeling package - another land based one is through the Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort - www.fijiresort.com - they will reopen in September after repairs needed from the cyclone. Good luck with your search.
