VEGGIE FOOD!

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Im planning on staying somewhere in the yasawas for a week in april with my 6 friends. Ive noticed on all the websites that once you arrive on the island you have to pau for your meal plan regardless! This has me slightly worried as I'm a vegetarian and am wondering if they will cater for me. Does anyone have any experiences of this or know if I'll starve to death???

There were a couple of vegetarians I met and they had no problems at all, the islands were really happy to cater towards individual needs.

With a "fairly significant" Indian population in Fiji, I imagine that vegetarianism is not that unusual, so I would think there would be food, although it may be monotonous - Taro is filling, but not very exciting!!!!

To me, the biggest problem with vegetarian food is that there is no meat in it!
