Hi all! I've been trying to contact Wayalailai Resort, on Wayasewa Island, to make a reservation. But my two emails have gone unanswered for weeks. I really don't want to spend $6/minute calling them, so can anyone tell me if they're still operating? Or any other reason why they might not be answering email? Thanks!
Answered my own darn question...here: http://www.pacific-resorts.com/fiji/waya-lailai-resort/index.html | 1
You have to realize that the e-mails of many resorts are only connected to a website set up by an independent party, and on a server very far away from the resort itself. There may not even be any e-mail access direct from the resort. This is possibly the situation with your first link. So, the resort operators themselves may not be in the habit of checking e-mail on a regular basis .. it's a technology they simply don't use. Hopefully, the resort does have a reservation system set up through an independent booking agent, which is what your second link is all about. | 2
Hi! Wayalailai was stil operating in november, so I wolud guess they are stil. They did not have an internet contact that did work though. And that is way you can“t get an answer. But I am shore they will not be fully booked if you are staying in a doorm. | 3
Even when resorts have email access onsite AND they check daily, they dont always respond promptly. .Slow email response (often not answered at all) is common in the Pacific.Remember that "Fiji time" extends to email use | 4
Hi I have been to Waylailai twice before and am returning with my wife in March this year. I can only speak highly of the place and its people . Is there anything I can help you with. Jim | 5
i agree most of the yasawa backpacker resorts are only connected by radio and someone from the mainland are checking their email and mails for them. we went there w/o reservation during hi season and founf a spot. they are well organized and one of the most skilled musicians of the yasawas (hanging out in the eves at the resto/over-looking balcony) ...priceless | 6
