what to do when visitng the Coral Coast

I am a first time visitor to Fiji and will be staying on the Coral Coast for 1 week to attend a wedding. I was wanting suggestions of places to visit and things to do in the vicinity. I don't want to be stuck at the resort for the entire week. Can anyone suggest the best things to do whilst there? I will be with my partner and 15 yr old son

Take a river trip.

Or a trip to the highlands.

There is a zoo near by.
And some sand dunes with historic "stuff".

Take local bus to Lautoka for the day (market is best on Thursday, Friday, Saturday).

There is the zip line which is between the coral coast and suva, a great ride, and the river is good for exploring. the trip up the Navua river, not the rafting tour, but both are good, trips up the sigatoka river, get the local bus to Suva, and visit the Fiji museum, and if its a saturday the Suva market is amazing.
