Where best to change moneyCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
I’m going to Fiji for 10 days next week – the Hideaway Resort near Sigatoka. Will be coming from Australia. Where is the best place to change money? I assume it’s NOT at the resort. If at the Nadi airport, where in particular? I’ll probably go into Sigatoka a couple of times for a look around so could I change money there? I’ll have a Mastercard or could take some $A. Thanks
I find the best place to get Fiji dollars before going to Fiji is at Australia Post. but if you must exchange in Fiji you can get dollars from the ANZ bank inside the airport terminal picture and youtube video clip at this link http://www.fijitraveltips.com/index.php/recently-asked-questions/is-there-a-atm-at-nadi-airport also if you go to Sigatoka you can exchange at the ANZ and WESTPAC branches there the following link has a YouTube video clip that shows you where the ANZ bank is at Sigatoka http://www.fijitraveltips.com/index.php/things-to-do/activities-on-the-coral-coast-fiji there is also an ATM at the Korolevu Post Office which is not far from the Hideaway Resort hope this helps | 1
Thanks - isn't youtube just fantastic! | 2
I lived in Fiji for 2 years and simply drew cash from ANZ, WestPac or BSP (Bank of South Pacific) ATMs as required. There are plenty about. Just take care. Cheers, | 3
theres a foreign exchange window 20 metres straight in front as you leave customs (rates are good as any), and also and anz bank branch about 15 metres in front/left as you leave customs, theres also atm's same area. saves leaving the airport. | 4
I always get my FJD from the ATM at the airport | 5
At lot of places will probably accept Aussie dollars. | 6
"At lot of places will probably accept Aussie dollars" - the bigger places may ...or not, plus the exchnage rate they give will be lousy. | 7
