Where to for a Surprise Getaway with my Wife???

Hi All,

I'd like to take my wife on a surprise getaway to the islands for a week in Sept and was wondering if anyone had a few ideas?

Our criterion are:

*Easily accessible from Nadi as we dont have too much time and dont want to waste to much time travelling to and from the destination.

• We need to be reasonably conscious of cost- unfortunately I'd like to be able to afford more but...times are a little tough. I guess max $F200/night

• We are both in our 30's so I guess a mix of chill out and a little action would be great

*BEACHFRONT!!!

Your thoughts and ideas would be much appreciated.

I agree with Mandja. We stayed in the yasawa chains for 2 weeks. Island-hop every 2-3 days. swimming with giant manta rays, staying at the bures (quite inexpensive and gives that south pacific ambiance), seeing one of the best sites for soft corals, and swim through caves, learning from women to hunt octopus (yes its a womans job) and traditional spear fishing from the fijian islander (uncle joe at waya) yasawa flyer is convenient by bus fron nadi airport (just outside).

bare in mind, there is the crowded party all the place islands in the yasawas (mostly islands on the mamanuca island group just before the Waya and Wayalailai chain). We avoided these islands as we were not into those crowds. One of my favs was long beach resort (no brochure nothing) just as the rep at the yasawa flyer they can book on the spot using radio coz usually the flyer wont even stop there because of lack of passengers. Noah and his boat will approach you at the flyer. Youll most likely be alone on his island. he also has 2 kayaks which we used for 3 days on their beautiful lagoon and didnt see a soul.

The best food on the yasawas was the resort in Nacula (not octopus)...
