Where to in the Yasawas?

We would like to go to the Yasawas. Can anyone recommend bure/bungalow accommodation( midrange price) situated on/ near the beach where there is great snorkelling? When is the "ideal" time of year to go?

Octopus Resort...........kinda funky but affordable and the beach is beautiful!

Octopus is great in every way. A resort feel at affordable price. Fine snorkeling right off the beach.

Octopus has good snorkeling, not great, but the place has many charms. The cheap time of year to go is July and August, and it's less touristed then, also. Look at their website (http://www.octopusresort.com/) for deals on longer-stay packages, but if you go offseason, contact them for a deep discount.

Thank you for the Octopus "plugs". It almost sounds a bit "sus"....but maybe it's meant to be and we will definitely check out their website and info.
Would a stay on the island be worth combining with a 3 night cruise of the islands?
Is July/August a good time of year, weatherwise to go there, other than being less busy?
