My son & I plan to be in Fiji in April. Staying 4 nights at Hideaway Resort on the Coral Coast & then transfer to Yasawa Isl staying at Barefoot Lodge 3 nights before returning to Nadi. We are divers & surfers. Has anyone got a comment on our choice of accommodation... And would like a recommendation for accom for one night in Nadi before flying out. I don't think it would be possible to leave Barefoot arriving at Nadi in time to make a 20.30 flight. Barefoot is costing $250/night incl of meals. Is there another resort recommended that could do better with a reasonable standard of facilities? Thanks for your advice Lainy
you will return to Nadi on the Yasawa Flyer - that picks up from Barefoot around 2.30pm, gets in to Denarau at approx 6pm, you could be at the airport by 6.30 by taxi, maybe 7pm if you waited for the free shuttle bus. Depends where you are flying to and how much time you need for check in, different for different airlines/destinations.. Last October we flew Nadi to Auckland, check in time was 90 minutes prior to our flight. | 1
Thanks for your help. Is it just as easy to get from Nadi airport to resorts on Coral Coast? Lainy | 2
Fairly easy to get to the Coral Coast. Many resorts/hotels have a pick-up service, try contacting yours directly to find out. Alternatively there is a bus that picks up outside the airport, or taxis if you prefer. | 3
I would recommend the Raffles Gateway Hotel http://www.rafflesgateway.com/ for the one night in Nadi. I always went there as a kid/young adult and always had a good time with my family. They have beautiful old bouganvilla tree's throughout the hotel and affordable too. You both should read up on Frigates Passage off of Pacific Harbour (also down the coral coast). Its a well known surf break for Fiji throughout the world. Pacific Harbour also has great shark diving, wreck diving, soft corals. Check out http://www.aquatrek.com/. The shark dive is insane ;) If you both have time to check out what else is on around Fiji head to http://fijieventure.com or http://facebook.com/fijieventure . Hope you guys have a great trip :) Tandra | 4
