Which resort is better or should I look at a different oneCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
I will be traveling to Fiji at the end of September and will be there for nine days. Has anyone stayed at the Hilton or the Westin? Or is there a better choice?
both those resorts are at Denarau, which has black sand and no real beach, they do have big pools for you to swim in, and if your idea of a holiday is to sit around a pool, relaxing with a drink, then it is OK, along that strip you can walk from hotel to hotel and try the different pools for a change and they do offer side trips. the best beach is at Natadola (Intercontinental) which may not be your budget, the yasawas and namaccuas islands have nice places and a local cruise lets you visit different islands over the time of the cruise. | 1
I had no idea about the black sand! As for intercontinental, it's still within budget. Would you recommend pre booking a taxi or just find in a taxi/bus to get there? | 2
you can just get a taxi from the airport, but the intercontinental have a pick up service, and that is easy, if you get a taxi just make sure they turn on the meter. | 3
Denarau and its resorts have nothing in common with Fiji. Cheers, | 4
With 9 days you really shouldn't loiter in Denarau - rather go to the Yasawas, or somewhere similarly idyllic. Spend time in Denarau principally to tie in with your flights. That said many tourists are content based in the large resorts and doing day trips. | 5
