Yasawa Islands

If you are looking for an authentic, family run, Fijian resort in the Yasawa Island group please contemplate staying at Gold Coast Resort on Nanuya Lailai. I stayed there this June and enjoyed the experience enough to actually log onto the forum and post! It is very small and quiet, the family are friendly and the food was without doubt the most delicious and Fijian of all the places I stayed. No rice and maggi noodles every meal here. It's an easy 20 min walk across the island to the Blue Lagoon, which makes it the best budget way to swim/snorkel at the lagoon without having to fork out for the posh resprt or the day trip. This recommendation is not for the groups of beer swilling under 25 gap year tourists, you won't like or appreciate it so stay away and let those who want to get a feel for the culture of the islands appreciate it in peace.
