looks like we may be transferred to guam. will my american tv work there - or do they use another system? thanks.

i did not say we were going on holiday - we may be moving there.

I was in Guam and actually rented a VCR which was "NTSC" (US video system). So, your TV probably will work ("PAL" is the British type system, "SECAM" is for France, Russia, etc.).

To be sure, see if you can find a Guam website to see if it is NTSC compatabile, althouch VCR's are dying out, of course.

You can always just e-mail Guam Visitor's Bureau, I'm sure the staff would know from personal experience.

Most things in Guam are US-related, so I can't say 100%, but it probably would work.
