day use room

HI,

did anyone can recommend any day use room in hotel or hostel in Guam since we got a long transit period from 5am in the morning to 6pm at the evening on the same day for transfer to yap!! we really hope can take a rest before go to Yap Island but feel really it is a waste to book two nites for just few hours stay!!

I'm sorry I can't give advice on where to stay in Guam, but I did want to wish you an awesome trip in Yap! While Yap isn't as pretty as, say, Palau, it is culturally intriguing (stone money, grass skirt-only attire tradition, the singing at the churches) and has amazing diving. Do try Pathway's special order in advance dinner (which easily feeds two) and juice made from the strange local lime (they call it ginko, but it isn't). Kayaking in the mangroves (organized through Manta Ray) was fun, as was taking a taxi to one of the other villages to wander around and visit the beach.

I had a similar layover at Guam airport last month. I wasnt looking for a room but just a pleasant diversion from the airport & took a taxi to "Holiday Resort." Nice public beach there to lounge on or swim. Even a zoo! A good variety of restaurants within short walking distance as well.
