Guam weather in October?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Guam

Hi! I'm considering a trip to Guam this October (probably in the first two weeks), hopefully to laze about on a gorgeous beach (recommendations most welcome). I am mindful that the fall is monsoon/typhoon season in Asia and would appreciate any advice about whether that's a really dumb time to visit, given that my hope is to spend time in the sun.

Thank you!

If sun is what you want, January thru June is dry season (as many web sites will attest). It is hot and sunny, but not crazy hot. There is sometimes sun during the other months, but there are many long stretches of overcast and rain. Guam is pretty small, and you can drive around the island well inside a day. That's including a lot of stops. So, you can check out all the beaches you'd like, and I definitely recommend driving around slowly to check as much as as possible. This was a whole-day outing for me and my wife (then) in a convertible. Sadly, the nicest beach (Tarague Beach) is on Andersen AFB and unless things have changed since I last saw Guam, you would not be able to access it. You need to check because I left there in 1989 and I'm sure a lot has changed. You should also check out getting dive certified and doing a lot of that. I lived there for 4 years, so I am a little partial to the place even though many others will say it's not even worth getting off the plane for. Moonlight on gently swaying coconut palms, the perfume of plumeria coming out of the jungle, the aqua blue water. I wish I was going. Hafa Adai!

But the weather is changing and not nearly as steady as it once was- locals attribute it to global warming. I always figure that the rule of 85 holds- 85F, 85% humidity, 85% chance of some rain, and the water temp- why 85F of course. but even if it is overcast you will get plenty of sun. And I wish I was going too- sigh.
