Camping on Majuro Atoll

Hi everyone,

Does anyone who has been to the RMI know if camping on Majuro Atoll is legal/feasible? I'm not a fan of hotels/paying to sleep in general unless I have to, but I'd really like to visit some of more remote Pacific islands sometime in the near future. An overview of Google Maps, posts on here, and a few blogs leads me to believe that it would probably be a safe proposition but that there might not be anywhere to set up camp due to how cramped the island is. Will I be able to do it or would I have to bite the bullet and pay for a room somewhere?

Also, does anyone have any idea regarding transport to some of the more far-flung islands that doesn't involve Air Marshall Islands (which I gather is either notoriously unreliable, now defunct, or possibly both)?

I am not an expert but spend a few days on Majuroi Atoll in June. Air Marshall Islands seems unreliable, even the tourist office wouldn't reccomend them to me. Their should be boats to nearby Arno Atoll besides this I do not know about other boats (but also did not enquire).
Camping will be difficult in the Delap-Uliga-Darrit area as it is really built up. I have no clue if it is legal but if you leave the urban area behind and head towards Laura Village (regular minbusses/taxis) camping should be an option not in Laura village but along the way. Very few people live in this area. If you do this, you are though in the middle of nowhere. I stayed and can recommend the Backpackers Hostel at the Flame Tree, cost me 20$ in the dorm.

hi wittli i plan aldo to visit Majuro in October and is really dificult to find accomodation, i see this Backpackers Flame tree but i am don t find any number or mail for bookind, do you remember how you book there or don't need to book in advance and go directly to the hotel the same day
