| johnbrighton05:37 UTC12 Aug 2008 | YAP Pathways hotel has 1 room for $55,it's got A/C,a bathroom & a double bed (www.pathwayshotel.com).Cheaper,but grottier is EMI aprtments/Blue Lagoon 100 yards east of Pathways. Pathways attached restaurant is fairly good & they do free airport pick-ups. If like me you're going to arrive at 3.15AM be warned that after the flight the whole airport is deserted & it's a tiny place with only a few benches outside to sleep on,lather yourself in mosquito repellant. O'keefes is the place for a beer - 12oz. Bud = $3 - especially on a Friday.Next door Oasis is a good A/C cafe. Continental's office is at the airport. Cheapest I-net is $4/hr at the telecom centre. Visitor centre has loads of info,it's now just up the hill from telecom. Traders Lodge has bikes for hire. Balabats' stone money is a must see.

| silvanocat15:07 UTC12 Aug 2008 | You spent the night at Yap airport? I almost ended up having to do that as my ride did not show up. How did you get to town the next day? (I was told that it was too dangerous for me, a woman, to spend the night there and some lovely locals drove me to town and put me up at their house.)
The Pathways room sounds like a good deal as the rate includes the tax. Was the room nice, or just basic, as their others go for over $100? Did it have a view and a little sitting area outside like the other rooms there?
