Has anyone been to Pohnpei in the FSM and recommend budget accomodation? I know there is no really budget places, but I found some around $40/double. Micronesia is tough to find cheap accomodations. I live on Guam if anyone has questions regarding stopovers here on the way to Micronesia.

Does the Joy still have rooms? Don't really know how they are, but the restaurant is fine- one of the few things I consistantly miss about Pohnpei. I would think the ones you found would be at about the bottom. MIcronesia is not cheap, period. As you know if you live in Guam.

Check out Nara Gardens, run by Berman Welbacher. You can get an apartment style room with aircon, tv, fridge, etc. for about $40. But book in advance as he only has about 2-3 rooms.
