7 days Grand Terre Itinerary

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / New Caledonia

Hi all!

we are organizing a 7days holiday in NC in April.
we'll be on a budget [mostly camping or b&b] BUT with a car!
we are nature lovers so we will dedicate just one day to Noumea and then probably one day in the south for hiking and the rest travelling north.
- what do you think about that? would you spend more days south?
- can you suggest us your favorite locations for hiking / photography / kayaking / snorkeling or just enjoying the view and relax?!

Thanks :)

If you are nature-lovers, the Blue River Park in the South is a must - the best area of lowland rainforest in NC. It might even deserve an overnight stay - there is/was a free hikers' refuge near the entrance.

Otherwise, the north-east has the most to offer, so spend most of your time up there.
It is a fantastic area for camping and hiking - you will have a great time.

Thanks Laszlo!

you've just confirmed my idea about northeast and now we will surely make a 2 days south!
