A week in Noumea to help my French language skills along

I am thinking of a week in Noumea to help my French language skills along - maybe museums, movies, shopping and just generally hanging around and relaxing.

Anyone suggest a central hotel?

When you say "central" you need to consider whether you want/need to be "central" to the CBD or to the main tourist area. For one week, Id suggest the latter (Baie de Citrone or Anse Vata beaches) - they are not too far from the CBD anyway (10 mins by bus)
