| leighe06:38 UTC28 Sep 2008 | Does anyone have information about the Air Caledonie airpass? I found an (old) Air Caledonie website that said it was available for 4 flights but I can't find an up to date cost or if it is possible to buy this pass in Australia.

I have used the site to book flights (and less successfully accommodation ) in the Loyalty Islands. The fares are probably not current but if you book the sectors on their flight booking system, you should receive a confirmation email. Air Caledonie will then ask you to confirm by FAX and you can organise collection of the ticket at the office in Noumea. They will just want you to FAX details of your passport and credit card (Not by email for security reasons). The first time I travelled with them I booked the flights through my travel agent, but I think Air Cal is not in IATA so the agent cannot issue tickets(and Im not sure if every travel agent will oblige as they dont make any commission). Even so I just paid and collected at Noumea. Also Air Cal now have a couple of taxes that apply to each flight sector travelled, so depending on where you are planning to fly it may even work out cheaper to just by sectors. To complicate it further they have a colour coded fare system depending on flight time, but you can work this out if you are patient! Good luck.
