French Pacific Franc - Currency

Is the French Pacific Franc (XPF) one and the same currency in both New Caledonia and French Polynesia (Tahiti). So can I use my French Polynesian francs in New Caledonia and vice versa ?

We were able to use the same currency in FP and New Caledonia when we were there in 2006. I don't think anything has changed since then but someone may have more up to date information.

Yes it is ie you can use NC currency in Tahiti and vice versa - notes and coins.

In May 2008, my FP coins were not accepted in NC.
