| eliza25a06:12 UTC29 Oct 2007 | I'm looking at going to New Caledonia for my honeymoon in late February - early March. I know this is the wet (and cyclone!) season, but I've found conflicting information on how wet it is likely to be. Does anyone know firsthand?
We're looking at staying for 2 days in Noumea (maybe at Le Lagon or other apartments) and then having 3 days at Ile des Pins at Oure Lodge, and then 3 days in Ouvea staying at Paradis d'Ouvea.
If anyone could offer feedback on these hotel it would be most appreciated.
Thanks

Ive also not stayed at Oure on IDP but I have visited it and had a a meal and drinks there. It is a gorgeous hotel and brilliantly located onthe shores of Kanumera Bay and within siight of IDPs best beach Kuto- a good choice at the upper end (price wise).
For other ideas re Noumea and IDP, look at the FAQs in this branch and also do a search in this branch.
For Ouvea, hopefully Fernsie will respond.

Oure Lodge, as Mandja said is in a great position. Paradis d'Ouvea is the very best accommodation on Ouvea but in my opinion is really not indicitive of the local culture and very overpriced- it is a Japanese inspired hotel aimed at the Japanese tourist market.
