Isle of Pines- day trip or overnight stay?

Hi there,

my partner and I are going to New Caledonia for 2 weeks over Xmas/ New Year. We are thinking about going to the Isle of Pines but we are not quite sure, since the ferry times don't suit us best, whether we should stay there for 2-3 nights or just have one or two day trips from Noumea. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I did a day trip and found it fine for seeing the place, though obviously an overnight stay would be more relaxing.

We have finally decided to go by plane and staying for 2 nights before going back by boat. I am pretty excited already and hope it will be awesome :-)

Only bad weather could spoil it.

2 nights is surely better than justa day. Although the Isle is small it is quite diverse. You wont regret staying the extra time. Where will you be staying?
