Limited mileage on GrandeTerre?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / New Caledonia

Folks,
I have got another question.
Not being that familiar with distances on Grande Terre, I wonder if I should agree to limited kms with a rental car on Grande Terre. Avis offers 1'200 km for 6 days (25'000-.-) Europcar wants €261 for unlimited kms - but is 1'2000 enough to see P.P. de la Rivière Bleue, drive up the east coast via Hienghene and Balade and return along the west coast? We may lose our way a few times, drive down to this beach and the other, drive somewhere for an ice-cream - you know...
Your advice is much appreciated! Thanks.

Highenghene is a long way from Noumea - allow at least 5 hours each way.

1200km MAY be enough - it depends how much driving around you'll do.

Hi,

No way. The distances in NC are too great, particularly where you want to get to. Take the Europcar/Mencar deal or try Point Rouge.
