Noumea and Casino's

Hi everyone,

I'm off to to Noumea for a week at Christmas and would welcome suggestions for a couple questions I have.

I am considering getting a rental car or taking some day trips with travel agencies to explore. I'm wondering if it is more beneficial to hire a car or if there are some agencies that offer good day trips.

I think there is a casino where I am staying. Is there a dress standard for the casino's? I normally travel light so am wondering if I need to take a few extra clothes.

"beneficial to hire a car" - NC is a big country . Even in the Noumea area, a hire car is useful to have and the driving easy and worthwhile.

The dress code at the casinos is "smart casual"
