Recommendation for lawyers in New Caledonia

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / New Caledonia

In a couple of weeks my partner and I will be in New Caledonia as part of a trip around the South Pacific looking for new exotic liquers to import for the artisinal cocktail bars of San Francisco. (Seriously, you can find drinks around here made with Batavia Arrack. You never know what the next trendy ingredient will be.)

What we particularly want in New Caledonia is to register the domain name dri.nc. It looks like the .nc domain is pretty locked down, and they will likely frown on our desired URL if they figure it out. But my past experiences in South East Asia make me think that you might be able to hire a fancy local lawyer to get it worked out.

So, any recommendations for lawyers in Noumea, preferably with a technology focus? (And I can speak French well enough that I'm not concerned about language barriers.)

Thanks!

Don't know about lawyers, but you might try Gene Paul's Nono Juice Brandy in the Independent State of Samoa. I'd love to see a mango brandy kind of like Slivovizc or krushkavazc.

From Pago,

JW

Hi,

Not sure if you've already been to NC, but my sister works for Pacific Legal Network - a Sydney based law firm that specialises in the pacific. They do an extensive amount of work in NC, in collaboration with Noumea based firm Salans. PLN have experience in technology - especially telecommunications in the pacific.
