Accommodation that is not too expensive!!

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Niue

Hi,
My partner and I are planning on travelling to Niue in early December for two weeks.
As we are both students we don't have a huge amount of money to spend and were planning on staying at the backpackers. Unfortunately it recently shut down and we are left trying to find accommodation. Everything I have looked at online is out of our league - we are looking for something around 50-65 NZD a night (we don't mind if its super basic!)

Would anyone here know if there are any place to stay in Niue within that range?
If not we may have to alter plans and head somewhere else but we were really excited to visitNiue!

Thanks!

Well, the official tourism website lists a place for $70: Lialagi Units
It lists a few others that look like they should be similar or even cheaper but doesn't give their rates.
Try emailing them.

Thanks! We have that one in mind but because it is on the high end of our budget we are seeing if we can find anything cheaper. Unfortunately the others that look similar are all more expensive as they fit 4+ people (cheap for families but not so much for us!) We will keep looking!
Thanks :)

have you tried www.niueisland.com/accommodation ?

we are doing the Matavai resort in November

found this website when I was checking out accommodation
www.pacifictourism.travel/region/pacific-islands/pacific-islands---niue/accommodation
amongst the amazing nippets of info on the site it notes

Niue Gay and Lesbian Accommodation
Rainbow and pink tourism is well catered for throughout Niue with a wide range of gay, bi and lesbian friendly accommodations to choose from. Gay and lesbian-owned accommodation, in particular, often offers its guests a warm welcome, privacy, seclusion and tasteful decor.

Niue Campsites and Holiday Park Accommodation
There are campsites, camping grounds and holiday parks throughout Niue catering for travellers with tents, campervans, motorhomes and RVs. Often beautifully situated close to natural attractions, these holiday parks usually provide kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, playgrounds, cabins and more. Great option for family accommodation in Niue.

and most amazing of all
Niue Vineyard Accommodation
With Niue wine gaining an international reputation for excellence, staying in one of the country's vineyard accommodations is an excellent way to literally get a first-hand taste of the Niue wine growing industry. Like many wines, vineyard accommodation is often boutique and of very high standard.

didn't realise Nuie was making international award wines. Either the website assumes Nuie is part of mainland NZ, or it's spouting a load of shite

it's spouting a load of shite

Of course it is.
There are no vineyards, holiday parks etc in Niue.
