Accomodation on Niue

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Niue

Hi there,

we're Danes who arrive on Niue on December 29th 2007.

Does anyone know any good (and cheap) hotels/guest houses there?

Thanks!

/Jens

Here are 4 guest houses although there are one or two others.

Kololi's Guest house In town, a large guest house but also with separate single bedroom units

Teresa's Guest house In town, a large 3 or 4 bedroom house.

Peleni's Guest house In Town A small guest house with 2 or 3 rooms. These people are also working on a new property but I am not sure if it is open yet.

Fakavai Guest House In Avatele village. Perhaps the best location. A large guest house with 3 or 4 rooms.

Not sure of prices for any of these maybe USD30 upward per night

There are also 2 nice motels for around USD75 a night. Coral gardens has a bar and Namukulu has a swimming pool. For more information check out www.niueisland.com</a>

Crossie - is Coral Gardens still around? Or has Stafford given it up?
I really liked staying there and it wasn't terribly expensive...

Sorry..didn't read that last bit in your post..
When I was there (July 2006) Stafford was talking about giving it up.
Will be back in July 2008.

Hi Rich,

No Stafford has had a change of heart and spending more time here. In fact we have set up the Niue Business Round Table with Willie and some others. Bookings this year have picked up.

Jens, I got the name of one of the guesthouses wrong: Fakavai should be Kauhi guesthouse. This is brand new close to Matavai resort, Niue dive and Avatele beach. Rental vehicle required in fact you need a rental vehicle to get around Niue - no public transport. Bikes are ideal as there are few hills.

Good to hear. Tell Stafford I'm glad he's had a change of heart.

I also see you guys are looking for an independent accountant and attorney. If you accept Americans, consider me your recruiting agent!

I can't wait to get back there.
