Which accommodation?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Niue

Can anyone provide some up to date information about which accommodation is best on Niue? At this stage leaning towards Namukulu Motel. They only have 3 fares and they have a good website. Does anyone have any photos of the accommodation at Matavai Resort or able to provide a review?

Thanks in advance.

Matavai - I did not stay there but visited it, and it certainly looked great.

I ate at the Matavai. It has a beautiful deck on the cliff at the edge of the ocean. I saw the Namukulu from the outside and it looked nice as well. It looks like they rebuilt the pool which was destroyed by the high waves in cyclone Heta.

I stayed at the Coral Gardens Motel, loved it. Very clean and comfy. My blog has a few photos of the outside of our cabin: (check April 4th)

Have stayed at Namukulu and it was fine.
It was actually rebuild up the hill after the original was destroyed.
Did not know that when we booked but it was not a problem.
Have previously stayed at Anaiki and eaten at Matavai which would be ok as well.
We will stay at Coral Gardens next time as we like to try different resorts each time.

I have stayed at the Matavai. Stayed for 5 days.
We loved it. Fantastic location with magnificent views.
Food was great, staff were fantastic.
The chef even took me out for a days fishing.
They'll pack you a picnic lunch if you want to spend the day out snorkelling or hiking.
I would recommend getting one of the rooms with aircond depending on what time of year you are there.
I liked Niue and if I went back would stay there again.
