Costs?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Northern Mariana Islands

Can anybody give me an idea of how expensive it would be to spend three weeks around Tinian, Saipan, and the other Mariana Islands? I'm interested in budget lodgings, no need for a four star hotel or anything unless it's really cheap. I'm trying to get by on maybe $30 or $40 a day if that's possible. If that's unrealistic, can somebody give me a better idea of what costs there are like?

Thanks all,
Van

Its been over 10 years since I lived there and it was pretty expensive then. Most produce is imported and very few fresh vegetables. Costco was the main shop there but there are lots of little shops around saipan. Its an interesting place to visit with a lot of history from the second world war.

It is completely possible to find accomadations for 30 or 40 a day. The food is cheap if you eat mostly Filipino food.
I live on the island so you are welcome to contact me and I can give you more specifics.
