RE: budget air fares??

I don't think there are any flights via Saipan itself, but Continental flies from Manila or Hong Kong to LA via Guam, and from Guam, Saipan is a short and cheap side-trip.
Of course AA flies to both HKG and MNL.

I am finishing up a couple of years volunteering/traveling in Asia and would like to visit a family member in Saipan on the way back to the States. My question is: is there an less expensive flight alternative from Asia to California via Saipan?? I can start in Australia, Indonesia, or almost any where that Air Asia flys into. Ideas??

In addition to Laszlo's post, Sichuan Airlines has flights from Shangai to Saipan and Asiana Airlines fly from Seul to Saipan (they also have a flight from Tokyo). Delta Airlines has direct flights from Tokyo to Saipan and the offer connections from Saipan to the USA via Tokyo. But I suspect that it won't be cheap... Check out the rates!

Possibly with China Airlines via Taipei to Guam and then on the short-flight to Saipan. I saw a plane of a Korean airline at Guam airport which is not noted on the tourism bureau info section.

Or via Seoul on Asiana to Siapan or via Guangzhou on Shaghai Airlines to Saipan.
