Visa waiver Saipan (UK passport)Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Northern Mariana Islands
Hi, I am going to Saipan for a long weekend from South Korea (where I live) in April, for tourism. I have a UK passport. I just wanted to confirm about the visa situation as I cannot seem to find any official up to date info. I haven't been to the US for many years, but I understand that now I don't get a Visa Waiver on arrival, but have to apply for entry pre-clearance, ESTA, before I go. Does this apply to Saipan? I heard there is some separate Visa waiver thing (CNMI VWP?) that covers Saipan and Guam but not sure how it works. Can I just go, or do I need to apply for the US ESTA in advance? Thanks,
With a UK passport you can use either the US or the Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program, the US VWP requires an ESTA but the Guam-CNMI VWP does not, so you can just go. US Visa Waiver Program (INA § 217): Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program (INA § 212(l)): | 1
