Cheapest flight to Palau from ... anywhere!Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Palau
I'm planning a trip from Canada to Thailand January/February for about 6 weeks and would like to spend a week diving in Palau either at the start of my trip or at the end. I'm having lots of trouble finding a reasonable flight in and out of Koror. Does one exist? I heard Continental is my best bet from Manila. Looking for answers from someone who has made the trip themselves. Thanks.
I'm sorry to say that you really have no options when it comes to Palau. We have not done the trip but have just booked YYZ-MNL(Northwest) for a February visit to Palau and will fly with Continental from there - they are the only airline doing the route. The MNL-ROR flights only go on Wed and Fri so you need to take that into consideration. You can fly from Guam but it is even more expensive. Asian Spirit(now Zest Air) used to fly there for a lot less but folded the route last year; there was also another company that flew out of Taiwan to Palau but they went bankrupt. Good luck with your plans. | 1

Thanks so much newfie43. That's very helpful. How much was your flight from Manila to Palau? | 3
bard1 - we paid just over $700 Cdn per person. I found the cost of the flight went up about $100 per person from my first check back in late Sept - I'm not sure if it was due to our dollar losing ground against the US dollar, or if you get a better price the earlier you book. We have been looking into going to Palau since 2000 but just felt it was too expensive from here. We are Air Miles collectors and had finally earned enough miles for a couple of free(?) tickets to Manila so decided the time was now or never. I think you have a couple of options of reasonably priced flights for BBK-MNL if you decide to go for it - you could also look into flying into Clark Airport as it might be cheaper. Good luck with your plans. | 4
We are currently living in Palau and it does seem that China Airlines is trying to begin flights (other then their current charter flights) into Palau. However, this may not help you much, because they are looking to run flights from Taipei. Here's a bit of their story... http://www.silobreaker.com/DocumentReader.aspx?Item=5_930117141 | 5
