dive gear

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Palau

Does anyone know if you save money with Palau dive operators by bringing your own gear vs renting (regulator BC etc). Of course renting tank and weights. We're planning to spend a few weeks roaming around the area diving and saving money with a lot of diving would add up but so does the slepping of gear if we don't get discounted rates.

I would recommend Sam's or Neco (slightly cheaper). They both have bars/restaurants at the dive shops, and yes they charge more
If you don't have your own gear. They both have websites.

And I would try to get some kind of a multi dive deal set up, especially if you will be in Palau the whole time. I agree with Sam's, Neco often has groups of Taiwanese tourists or Japanese tourists on their trips. They all go to the same places. We never had our own equipment so can't comment on that.
