Hello you wonderful people!Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Palau
Right. Back to Palau for some diving in February - yeah - sickening I know. At the moment I am looking at a basic dive accommodation package - nothing fancy - it's just me Now they tell me about the single supplement on top - which frankly is a bit rich - US$335 a week - see? They're having a laugh. So my question is - has anyone got anything in town that they could recommend that's affordable?
Ok- so I was obviously wrong. Wonder where everyone went. | 1
It's OK - Lehns motel is doing $40 a night with airport transfer thrown in I'm pretty cool with that - keeps me in town for pick of the restaurants & I can buy from the supermarket too ;-) | 2
I think everyone must be in Palau staying at the cheap hotels. Have you had the Taro leaf soup at the resort? Really yummy and one of the things I get very homesick for. As far as shopping in the supermarkets- they have come a long long way since we lived there. The variety of fresh meat and veggies was wonderful last trip out. gotta go back. | 3
Update - Lehn's was fine - no worries - TV didn't seem to work in my room, but they have the most brilliant stars to look at over their building - so no worries there. Had a great time, needless to say. Losing the floodlit mini golf course is still the worst thing that's ever happened to Palau since WWII. It should've been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site - now it's just a vacant corner lot full of weeds. Breaks the heart. | 4
