Help to plan my own: Palau "Survivor" holiday

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Palau

Okai!

Im going to Palau in April. I like beautiful islands, diving, jellyfish(?) etc... But mostly, I like the reality TV series, Survivor.
So im going to Palau to fulfill my sweet survivor-dream.
But I would like some help to plan it all. I have head that some of the Island are restricted... ?

I have found this map of the filming locations: http://www.claycritters.com/map/s16/survivor_16_map.jpg

I would like to visit most of the locations and stay 1 - 2 days (overnight) on one of the "tribal camp" islands. I would love to make my own small campsite, grab a coconut, eat some snails and acting like I was playing survivor.

How can i arrange this? Is it even possible (allowed) to stay overnight on one of the tribal camp islands?
Anyone with some smart advises?

The state of Koror is made of the following islands: Koror, Gerekebesang Island, Meyuns, and Malakal. All of those are connected and easy to visit.

Kayangel is accessible via the state ferry (I think runs 2x a week). Peliliu is easy to get to by state ferry or pay your way on a commercial boat.

You are generally out of luck on Sonsorol and the other outer islands. It is hard to reach, there isn't regular ferry sevice, and I'm not sure that tourists are allowed.

There is generally no camping in Palau, outside Kayangel. At least none that we could find during the 2 weeks we were there.

One adventure you could have is rent kayaks and do a multi-day trip in the uninhabited rock islands. Do be mindful of the sharks.

I camped on Ulong which was used as a Survivor location.

You can camp not only on Kayangel but also on the Rock Islands including some quite close to Koror.

You can read about it here on my blog: http://kayakingpalau.blogspot.com/

Hi thanks for answers!
I have already read your blogg. That was great! Gave me inspiration.
So its possible to maby kayaking to Ulong island, from koror? And then spend the night.

To get to the "outer" Rock Islands, where Ulong is, from Koror requires crossing dangerous surf. (I didn't cross it, I discuss that in my blog.) Also Koror to Ulong is more than a days kayak.

Thanks for your help and your blog! :)

Du you think its easy/possible to meet ut at sams tour, rent camping equipment and ask them if they can drop me off at Ulong island, and pick me up after 2 days? Maby join in on a diving boat..
