Kayaking-camping

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Palau

I rented kayaks and camping gear from Ron who operates his Kayak tours out of Sam's Tours--$50/day kayaks each for my wife and me--and $40/ day for astonishingly complete and lightweight and waterproof camping setup for 2. We did the Rock Islands, Spent days on the beach used on first survivor--and covered a dozen miles or so a day, even breaching the visually impossible barrier reef (visualize Tom Hanks in "Castaway").
And we have been exposed to broken down boats in many of the Island nations in the scariest of weather conditions. And one non-scary episode when the "ferry" to Peliliu lost power--on a beautiful afternoon inside the reef.

We are going back for more in three weeks--e-mail me direct if you have more Q.--on the kayak-camping thing.
